Although this vineyard is younger than the Mancini Ranch (40-50 years old vs. greater than 80), and is 100% zinfandel (Mancini has a small scattering of other varietals which build spice into the wine early on), it nonetheless has a unique character all its own. Typically this vineyard needs the most bottle age of all of our zinfandels before it begins to strut its stuff, but this year it is already quite complex and intriguing. It shows bright fruit hinting of pomegranate and red berries with an exotic spice note. It is more forward and complex than past vintages. As with the Mancini, a few more years of bottle age certainly won't hurt this puppy! 281 cases bottled.
